Our Senior Pastor: Jeff Sheeks

Pastor Jeff Sheeks arrived at First Baptist Church in Brooklyn in 2006. He earned his Master’s degree from Grace Theological Seminary in 1996 and formerly served at Calvary Baptist Church in Union, IA and Grace Baptist Church in Plover, WI, before moving to Michigan. Jeff married his lovely wife, Cindy, in 1990. Together, they have raised two children, Karl and Katlyn. Pastor Sheeks enjoys playing sports, exploring new restaurants, and visiting sunny destinations. Together, Jeff and Cindy have worked to share the love of Christ through teaching and discipleship. In addition to the many functions of the church, they are both actively involved in Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). Pastor Sheeks serves on the State Board in Michigan and Cindy is the State Office Administrator for CEF of Michigan.

Our Youth Pastor: Josh Peoples

Pastor Josh Peoples arrived at First Baptist Church in November 2024. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Cedarville University, where he met his wife Rachel. He has a big heart for serving and building up the youth in biblical understanding and loves to sing and play guitar. A lover of all things sports and outdoor activities, Josh enjoys hiking, kayaking, and watching football and hockey.
